I've been doing NaNoWriMo since 2006, so it's good to have finally won. Most of what I've written isn't terribly well-connected; you'll likely be seeing a lot of Naruto stuff posted up here soon because of it. Still, it's been kind of fun.

Bits of paper and ribbon from inside the brightly-coloured box were strewn all over the table and floor - Daisuke hadn't been able to prevent himself from enthusiastically helping Ken unwrap his belated birthday present - but the dark-haired boy hadn't yet touched the item inside.

"What's the matter?" Daisuke asked at last, breaking the silence. "Don't you like it?"

"I'm sure that you put a lot of thought into choosing this gift," Ken said slowly. "But what is it exactly?"

The look on Daisuke's face was beyond words.
